The Alzheimer’s Society

Over 700,000 people in the UK alone suffer from dementia, with that number due to rise to one million by 2025. 1 in 3 people over the age of 65 will die from dementia. The Alzheimer’s Society provides information and support for people with all forms of dementia and those who care for them. It runs quality care services, funds research, advises professionals and campaigns for improved health and social care as well as greater public understanding of dementia.  The Alzheimer’s Society Helpline is: 0845 300 0336.  Their website is www.alzheimers.org.uk

My mother has Alzheimers and has suffered for the last 10 years. We finally had to put her into a nursing home a year ago. It was heartbreaking. I am from the US and even here we need more support for this organization. I wish you all the best.
